What happens if you don't get a job even though you are hired!!

The economic slow down has surely affected us all, well there is nothing new about it which i want to tell anyone, but i have a story to share. A story of a small town student who came to Bangalore to study. The family was a typical middle class one and the parents expected a lot from him. There is no twist in the story and Our Hero finishes his graduation in flying colours with top grades. He gets a campus placement in a top IT company on the basis of his performance in interview and grades. He gets the offer letter but till today 6 months after that he hasn't recieved THE CALL. I am very sure that more then half of you wont either realise or understand his sorry situation. The poor chap is left JOB (less) even after succesfully finishing his graduation. He knows very well that it is because of the economic slowdown. The company cannot recruit more workers and has to cut down the costs also. The company policy says that it can't fire workers without a reason then why do they give hope to anyone? If they cant cut jobs then why hire more talent and leave them JOB(less)??

Today no one can say that India has a dearth of talent, but as per the current trends we need to protect them and not leave them without a hope. imagine urself in a situation where you can boast of being recruited by a top company but then you pass six painfull months without joining it. My appeal to the HR hunters ( yeah thats what i call the) is simple, Don't hire and give hope if you cant take them in.
